SNIA Persistent Memory Programming Workshop and Hackathon at SDC

PM Hackathon

Wednesday, September 20, 2023
10:35 am – 4:35pm
Salon 8, Fremont Marriott

The next event in the SNIA Persistent Memory Programming Workshop and Hackathon Program will be at the Storage Developer Conference on September 20, 2023 and is included as part of the conference registration.

This exciting educational event is designed to help software developers understand the various tiers and modes of persistent memory and what existing methods are available to access them. A tutorial session led by industry experts will review memory structures and programming options; discuss CXL, the future of memory, and new memory operations; and provide individual guidance on best memory programming practices. Workshop participants can then create their own code using Application Programming Interfaces (APIs). A demonstration system featuring persistent memory modules will be available in addition to access to the virtual system.

Participants will leave the Programming Workshop and Hackathon with a better understanding of how to use existing APIs to program Persistent Memory, as well as where further research and development might be of benefit.

SDC participants only need a laptop with wireless access and some basic programming knowledge to begin learning.

  • 10:35am – 12:25pm – Introduction to Persistent Memory Programming Live Tutorial Session
  • 1:25pm – 4:35pm – Open Workshop and Hackathon session

Seating is limited - registration is encouraged so you won’t miss out!  Drop-in attendees will be seated if space if available.
