Adriano Galindo Leal has a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering since 2006 from the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo and is currently Manager of the Artificial Intelligence and Analytics Section at IPT. Between May 2019 and January 2020, he was a visiting researcher at Technische Universität Berlin-TU Berlin. During the initial 11 years of his career, he worked as an R&D Engineer for the Generation, Transmission, and Distribution Automation Group at the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo, where he was responsible for the study and development of automation and information systems in the areas of generation, transmission and distribution of electricity. From April 2007 to November 2010, he was the Coordinator of R & D Projects for Electrical Engineering and Business Intelligence at Elucid Solutions, an IT consulting company for electricity distribution companies. Since December 2010, he has been a Senior Researcher at IPT. His main research interests are Artificial Intelligence, Embedded Systems, Smart Cities, Intelligent Transport Systems, Big Data, Project Management, PMBOK, Geographic Information Systems, Business Intelligence, and solutions for the operation and maintenance of electrical distribution networks. Since 2006 he has been a member of the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), being part of the following technical societies: IEEE Power & Energy Society (President of the IEEE South Brazil Section from 2015 to 2019); IEEE Internet of Things Community; IEEE Computational Intelligence Society; IEEE Smart Cities Community; IEEE e-Government; IEEE Computer Society; IEEE Intelligent Transportation Systems Society; IEEE Smart Grid Community.
